On December 8, the staff of the Chagrin Falls Schools’ Tiger Perk Cafe were treated to a holiday lunch to celebrate their hard work and dedication in running the cafe. There are approximately 60 students in grades 7-12 that work in the cafe as well as seven adult staff members.
Tiger Perk student employees are responsible for all aspects of running the business. This year, they have expanded the menu and now offer frozen drinks which have quickly become a customer favorite. Amanda Heintzelman, supervisor of the cafe, reflected on the growth of the program, “It was incredible to see all 60 students celebrating together at the luncheon and to think five short years ago we were serving only staff members and had around 10 student employees. I’m extremely proud of all the students and am grateful that we are able to offer this program that reaches so many individuals.”
