On September 2, 2022, the Chagrin Falls Board of Education approved Zak Gebler as the school’s new Varsity Boys Lacrosse Coach. Gebler will replace Paul Corto who led the Tigers for the previous six years. Coach Gebler has been an assistant coach for the Chagrin Falls High School Boys Lacrosse program for the past eight years, including the 2015 and 2019 State Championship. Zak was region six assistant coach of the year last year and state assistant coach of the year.
Coach Gebler is a graduate of Chagrin Falls and was a player on the 2003 state championship team.
“I could not be more honored or privileged to be named the head coach of the boys lacrosse team. The Chagrin lacrosse program has been such a large part of my life for so many years. We have such a rich history of players, coaches and accomplishments. We get into coaching because we love lacrosse, teaching and helping our student athletes become better people. I appreciate the opportunity to take a bigger role in doing these things and can’t wait to get started.”
Athletic Director Charlie Barch said, “I am excited to have Coach Gebler running the Boys Lacrosse program. He has been a player and a coach in the program and understands what it takes to have a successful boys lacrosse team. I am excited to see what Coach Gebler can do and how he will continue the success the program has had over the years.”
