In the heart of Chagrin Falls, a remarkable high school senior is proving that leadership and service extend far beyond the classroom. Audrey Holmes, a standout senior at Chagrin Falls High School, has been named the Chagrin Valley Rotary Club's Student of the Month for December 2024, showcasing an impressive blend of academic excellence, extracurricular passion, and community commitment.

Holmes' academic credentials are nothing short of stellar. Maintaining a consistent Honor Roll status since 2021, she has challenged herself with an ambitious course load of Advanced Placement classes, including AP Physics, AP Seminar, AP Calculus (both AB and BC), AP Chemistry, CC+ College Composition 1-2, AP Biology, AP Spanish and AP Statistics. Her academic prowess was recognized early, earning her the Rensselaer Medalist Award for her achievements in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and an Outstanding Achievement in Composition Underclassman Award. She also received the Ohio Spanish Seal of Biliteracy. Last spring, Holmes traveled to Spain through the District’s Bridge to the World program.  She also was a Tiger of the Semester in the fall of 2021 and 2023.

But Audrey's talents extend well beyond traditional academic achievements. She is deeply involved in school activities, serving on the Student Council, participating in the Principal's Advisory Committee, choir, and supporting Link Crew. Her commitment to service is evident in her involvement with clubs like Cookies for Kids Cancer and her volunteer work as a high school library intern and volleyball camp counselor.

Outside of school, Holmes continues to explore her creativity through jewelry classes at the Chagrin Valley Art Center and enjoys spending time with friends and family. Her diverse interests—from athletics like volleyball and track to artistic pursuits like baking and crafting—paint the picture of a well-rounded, dynamic young leader.

“Audrey is a remarkable student whose kindness, positivity, and dedication stand out in every aspect of her learning,” said Principal Amanda Rassi, Chagrin Falls High School. “She has a willingness to work hard, contribute to the well-being of others, and demonstrate kindness and integrity in her actions. Audrey truly embodies the qualities of a scholar, leader, and role model. I am confident that she will continue to inspire others and make meaningful contributions wherever she goes.”

Looking to the future, Holmes has set her sights on a degree in biomedical engineering, a goal that perfectly aligns with her love of science and her desire to make a meaningful impact. With her track record of achievement and service, she is undoubtedly a bright star in Chagrin Falls' educational community.
