At the September 18 Chagrin Falls Board of Education regular meeting, Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Penczarski presented a remarkable overview of the District's performance on the recently released Ohio School Report Cards. Dr. Penczarski emphasized the importance of viewing these results in the context of growth over time, particularly the last three years. "The growth that this District has made is just unbelievable," she stated, highlighting that Chagrin Falls has shown growth in its Performance Index for three consecutive years, a feat uncommon among top-performing districts.”

Key highlights from the report include:

1. Gurney Elementary:

   - Ranked 2nd in the state for the early literacy component

   - Ranked 3rd in the state based for elementary schools Performance Index percentage

   - Ranked 8th in the state for percentage proficient in both English language arts (ELA) and Math on 3rd grade OST (Ohio State Tests)

2. Chagrin Falls Intermediate School:

   - Ranked 2nd in the state for intermediate schools in Performance Index percentage

   - Earned the highest rating of 5 stars in gap closing

   - Ranked 17th in the state for percent proficient on 6th grade ELA OST


3. Chagrin Falls Middle School:

   - Ranked 2nd in the state for middle schools in Performance Index percentage

   - Ranked 3rd in the state for percentage proficient in 8th grade ELA OST

   - Ranked 6th in the state for percentage proficient in 7th grade ELA OST

4. Chagrin Falls High School:

   - Ranked 2nd in the state for high schools in Performance Index percentage

   - Ranked 2nd in the state for percent proficient in Biology and English II End of Course exams

   - Demonstrated significant evidence of exceeding growth expectations over the past 3 years with a growth score of 24.68


Dr. Penczarski praised the collaborative effort across all schools, emphasizing that these achievements result from the hard work of all the teachers, staff members, and administrators throughout the District.
