The Chagrin Valley Rotary Club has selected Chagrin Falls High School's Margaret Oliver as their Student of the Month for April 2024. This prestigious award recognizes Oliver's outstanding achievements both inside and outside of the classroom.
Margaret Oliver is a true scholar-athlete, boasting an impressive array of academic accolades and extracurricular involvements. She has been named a National Merit Commended Scholar and an AP Scholar with Distinction, reflecting her dedication to academic excellence.
Oliver's achievements extend beyond the classroom. She serves as the Vice President of the Chinese Culture Club, is a member of the Chagrin Falls Wellness Council and Environmentalist Club, and has been a varsity soccer player for four years, serving as team captain. Her athletic prowess has earned her numerous honors, including being part of the Ohio Division II State Championship team in 2021, as well as multiple All Greater Cleveland and Conference Valley Conference team selections.
Outside of school, Oliver can be found hiking, training for half marathons, babysitting, and nannying during the summer. She also volunteers her time fostering dogs and puppies, running soccer clinics and reading with first-graders at Gurney Elementary, and planning and executing mental health awareness events.
"Margaret Oliver is the epitome of a well-rounded student," said Chagrin Falls High School Principal Amanda Rassi. "Her commitment to academics, athletics, and community service is truly inspiring. We are honored to have her represent our school and community as the Chagrin Valley Rotary Club Student of the Month."
In the fall, Oliver will be continuing her academic and athletic pursuits at Lehigh University, where she has been awarded the prestigious Trustees' Scholarship to study Chemical Engineering.
