Chagrin Falls High School (CFHS) senior Sam Kleid has been selected as the May Chagrin Valley Rotary Student of the Month. Kleid was chosen based on leadership and service qualities displayed in the community.
At CFHS, Kleid earned a variety of awards and recognitions including Tiger of the Semester, Ohio Seal of Biliteracy, Honor Roll and two-year letter winner for basketball. He also was chosen as the sports and media journalism editor for the “Tiger Times.”
Kleid is a member of boys basketball, Drama Club, Chagrin Falls Mental Health and Wellness Club, Link Crew, “The Growl,” and Chagreen Environmental Club.
Kleid’s extracurricular activities include the basketball team and performing in the Drama Club’s “Mean Girls: The Musical.” He has volunteered at Stagecrafters Theater Day Camp. He also works as an overnight summer camp counselor and is a language teacher for the after school program. Activities outside of school include attending the Stanford Media Journalism Workshop, School of the New York Times Summer Academy, and Fundamentals First Basketball Academy.
While at CFHS, Kleid took the following accelerated classes: AP United States History, AP English Language and Composition, AP Environmental Science, AP Biology, AP Spanish Language and Culture, and AP English Literature.
Kleid will be attending Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, and plans to major in English.
