Chagrin Falls High School is celebrating the achievements of two of its standout students who were recognized in the prestigious 2024 Jostens Photo Contest. Junior Eloise Pulte won an honorable mention in the academics category, while Senior Tatum Yanchar took home first place in the graduation category.
This marks the first time that Chagrin Falls High School has had a first place winner in the Jostens Photo Contest, which is a national competition that attracted over 5,000 entries this year. Only around 100 photos were selected for recognition.
"As far as yearbook recognition awards go, these awards are pretty high on that list," said Advisor Ken Kasee. "For our students to be singled out among such a large and competitive pool is a tremendous accomplishment."
Eloise Pulte's honorable mention in the academics category was awarded for her striking image that captured the intense focus and dedication of math teacher Michael DiGeronimo in his classroom. Tatum Yanchar's first-place win in the graduation category showcased the joy and excitement of the momentous occasion of Gavin Staples (Class of 2023) at commencement with diploma in hand.
"I am so proud of Eloise and Tatum for their outstanding work and for representing Chagrin Falls High School so beautifully on the national stage," said Principal Amanda Rassi. "These awards are a testament to the talent and creativity of our students, as well as the exceptional support and guidance they receive from our dedicated yearbook advisor, Ken Kasee."
The school community is celebrating the students' achievements and looking forward to seeing their award-winning photos featured in the prestigious Jostens Lookbook publication that will come out next spring.
